Responsibilities

  • Technical Architect – PWGSC/ GTIS Government Enterprise Network Management Services (GENMS) is an ongoing operation requirement. GENMS provides a centralized capability that act as an integrator and on-going manager of IT resources, resulting in cost effective alternate solutions to managing IT within federal government departments. GENMS undertook a variety of IT projects including Network Design Management, Service Management, Installation, Data Analysis and Network Monitoring, Problem resolution and Problem Management. Conoscenti as part of GENMS ongoing requirement provides Network Engineering and Architectural expertise to clients including, DFO, Health Canada, INAC, DND, RCMP, Transport Canada and a variety of other federal government departments

Responsibilities

  • Specify the general requirements of the system, develop broad system alternatives and identify their administrative, economic and technical feasibility.
  • Produce overall plan, a detailed plan for the functional analysis phase, and obtain approval of preliminary analysis.
  • Monitor the design, implementation and operations start-up of the proposed system against established goals, objectives and milestones.

  • Project Leader – MariTime Fleet Management System – Fisheries and Oceans - Provided support for the MariTime project. Prior to this, MariTime was an application that had been in proto-type mode in one DFO region for 3 years. The support responsibility was to stabilize the product, and to move it into full production in the remaining 4 DFO regions. The MariTime program is now in full SDLC/SMLC mode, and the combined DFO and Coast Guard Fleet are successfully using the product. It is currently being migrated from the legacy LAN environment into an n-tier Client/Server environment. The team for this project included: 1 Project Leader, 2 – 3 Senior Programmer Analysts, 1 Quality Assurance specialist. MariTime has a Web component that allows seagoing personnel to view their complex leave balances vis the internet. This facility is available to approximately 2600 users.

  • Senior Project Manager – Interface Deployment – RCMP – Responsible for the deployment of the new CPIC external interface to policing and government agencies across Canada. Senior Project Manager was responsible for scheduling and negotiating with the various agencies the role out of the redeveloped CPIC computer interface. These interface support 90% of the CPIC system traffic.
  • Senior Project Manager – User Group Acc4eptancve Testing – RCMP – Responsible for managing the testing of the CPIC application software. This included the certification of all CPIC application software to meet operational requirements.

Software Architect

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies, either for an organization or for a major application area, to meet the business and application requirements.
  • Identify and document system specific standards relating to programming, documentation and testing, covering program libraries, data dictionaries, naming conventions, etc.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document database content, structure, and application sub-systems, and develop data dictionary.

Reference Projects

  • Software Architect – iFleet – Fisheries and Oceans - The application being developed had to run in a client/server decentralized mode on the seagoing vessels, and be able to run in a centralized mode in both client/server and web environments. Data from the vessels was synchronized when possible with the centralized database (and vice versa) via available communication facilities (i.e., satellites, cellular, etc.). The application will be deployed to over 115 vessels and some 300 users in a decentralized mode, as well as running for an additional 50 shore based users in a centralized mode.

Software Developer

Responsibilities

  • Prepare diagrams and flow charts after analyzing business or technical requirement requiring a solution
  • Translate detailed flow charts into coded machine instructions and confer with technical personnel in planning programs.
